BINGHAMTON, N. Y. - There's a new eatery in Binghamton that bills itself as a home away from home where you don't have to do the cooking. The Hot Pot is opening Friday on Main Street in the building that years ago housed the Copper Cricket Cafe. The restaurant will be buffet style with a rotating menu of home style dishes like baked chicken, ribs and macaroni and cheese. Whether you're a young woman or a young boy, don't let anyone stop your dreams," said Powell. The Hot Pot will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a. m. until 7 p. m. Powell says she plans to hold special events, including an opportunity for local youth and Binghamton Police to share a dinner together.
BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- A new buffet-style restaurant has opened its doors in Binghamton. The Hot Pot , located at 266 Main Street, opened its doors Thursday. "Previously it had been the Copper Cricket," Robert Murphy, the Binghamton Director of Economic Development explained. She plans to offer different menus at The Hot Pot each week. To find out what's on the menu, you can call the business at (607) 797-3338. "Well she's an excellent cook so I don't think there'd be any problems, with the quality of the food," Murphy said. The price is $10. 95 for the buffet, but Dakari also explained she's offering a 10 percent discount for City workers, SEFCU and Visions Federal Credit Union, seniors and veterans.

The legalization of marijuana became a hot topic in the past week. First, recreational use of the drug became legal in California at the start of 2018. Next, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced he would allow U.S. attorneys to decide whether to enforce federal laws outlawing the use and sale of pot in states that have legalized the drug.Sessions ended an Obama administration policy that discouraged federal prosecutors from enforcing federal marijuana laws in states that allow the drug’s...
If there was ever a time for a pot of soup or stew to be set to simmer on the stove, it has been this month. With temperatures below freezing for several days in a row, heat from any source was welcome. It’s time to use that stove or oven or slow cooker for savory dishes and to appreciate the warmth that makes the kitchen toasty and sets the taste buds tingling. Win. Win. A big Dutch oven of potato soup fits the bill. I made this potato soup for our extended family and not a drop was left....
