The Camel Trek: In Search of an Unexpected Delicacy I asked the butcher to grill me his tenderest cut, but he suggested I have kabab, otherwise the meat would be too tough. I was puzzled: In Lebanon, kabab means pieces of meat threaded onto skewers, which was what I thought I was asking for. But in [...]

Today was our first full day in Chicago and our only day so we have had to fit in everything Chicago has to offer. So that meant a early start, luckily due to the time difference we were awake at 7 am. We decided to take a walk to Lou Mitchell's, a dinner that's at the start of Route 66 and has been serving food since 1923 so they must be doing something right. After that great start we headed out to walk to the museum district through Grant park and along the shore of Lake Michigan then onto Millennium Park to see the giant bean. Next we decided to get warm by going for a walk around Macy's, after a good half an hour we were ready to set off walking again, it was almost lunch time so obviously it had to be pizza, someone Kiri works with.

But I have it on good authority that web designers, along with a lot of the rest of the world love coffee. Driftaway Coffee is a freshly roasted coffee subscription that is personalized to your taste, delivered directly to your door. All subscriptions start with a tasting kit of four different coffees, you try them out, enter your favorites and based on which ones you like, you will get coffees matching your taste profile. Dog food, paper towels, and Epic bars. Coffee is totally on that list, but I’m not about to buy coffee from Amazon. I want an online coffee retailer that I can trust. That is incentivized to send me fresh coffee that I like because that’s what they’ve hinged their business on. Fortunately, that’s Driftaway. I’d say we’re borderline coffee snobs.

Spaghetti is such a versatile pasta. Instead of constantly wasting food and time, save your leftovers and try creating one of these delicious dishes with them. Spaghetti Egg OmeletteEmily Sauchelli An Italian tradition that has been passed down in my family is eating leftover spaghetti with scrambled eggs. Once the eggs are cooked, add cold pasta to the frying pan. The heat from the pan reheats the spaghetti and magically you have a new dish. I usually have it for breakfast however,...
By Lauren BrownlowI'd say you've come to the place to find all the best ACC analysis and predictions, except I went 2-5 picking the weekday games and I am now having a crisis of confidence. So while I get to know all of these teams a little bit better, I hope that my elite usage of GIFs will suffice. And maybe I'll stumble into some actual, useful analysis along the way. Sigh. But enough about me! The ACC meat grinder conference schedule is in full effect, and that's why it's so hard to...
Photo by Chase CastorSometimes, advance warning of bad news doesn't fully prepare you for its reality. So it is for the regulars of Mario's, Westport's beloved red-sauce nook. The restaurant announced last January that the clock was ticking: December 30, 2017, would be its last day, after close to 50 years. Writing on the restaurant’s website, owner John Waid explained that the “final year is our notice to our fantastic customers that the end is near.”Longtime customers are often...
